Playwright Romulus Linney Dead at 81

Romulus Linney, a prolific playwright and father of stage and screen vet Laura Linney, died yesterday at the age of 81.  Linney has received New York Foundation for the Arts, Guggenheim, Rockefeller, and National Endowment for the Arts grants as well as an NEA Fellowship and an Obie Award.  He was a professor of playwriting at the Actor's Studio at New School and chair of the MFA playwriting program at Columbia.
